3. Developing the Education Plan

In order to have cooperatives that function better and trainers better equipped, a good education programme is needed. For that purpose, the curricula cover the topics given in the training programmes of the Legacoop Puglia, Cooperative College and DGR which are:

  • Basics of co-operatives/co-operative principles
  • Starting a co-operative
  • Identifying the project/opportunities
  • The skills for success
  • Marketing and communications
  • Monitoring performance/business audit

According to the education plan, 6 training modules have been developed by the partners. These manuals  include information and knowledge about the topic and sub-topic according to the curricula, including trainer tips. Also examples and exercise templates are in this manual and it will help the trainers to integrate other tools including technological tools to the training.

  • Basics of co-operatives/co-operative principles
  • Starting a co-operative
  • Identifying the project/opportunities
  • The skills for success
  • Marketing and communications
  • Monitoring performance/business audit

5. Good Practices Video

These videos include short footages of successful cooperative cases and in total there are 4 cases from EU countries and 4 from Turkey.  It is believed that this method is effective to motivate other cooperatives about their production/services and inspire them to form cooperative or adapt innovative tools in the functioning of their present cooperatives. Recordings consist of first, short interviews with the administrators and members of the cooperatives and then show their way of production and service shortly.

6. Best Practices Book

This book consists of successful cases of cooperatives. It shows 18 cases and describes general information about these cooperatives, their main activities and more importantly how they have succeeded, which methods they use and how they maintained sustainability in their work.
